AAR - Customize Dialog - General Options

Author Name:

The text that will be displayed in the copyright statement at the bottom of each web page.

Example: “Dennis M. Kowallek”

Email Address:

The email address of the author.

Example: “mailto:kowallek@iglou.com” or “../../contact.htm” (a contact form)

Homepage Title:

The text that will be displayed for the link in the upper left corner of each web page. The default is “Home”.

Example: “Kowallek Family Home”

Homepage URL:

The URL of the web page that will be used for the “Home” link. The default is “./index.htm”.

Example: “../index.htm”

Image Folder:

The relative path to the images folder. The default is “.”.

Example: “../images”

Terminate Tag:

If AAR encounters an individual with this particular Legacy tag turned on, it will make that individual the last one in that particular family line and continue with the next family line. Select Tag 0 if you wish to ignore all tags. Tag 0 is the default.

Birth Term:

The term that AAR will use for the birth event. The default is “Born”.

Baptism Term:

The term that AAR will use for the baptism event. The default is “Baptized”.

Death Term:

The term that AAR will use for the death event. The default is “Died”.

Burial Term:

The term that AAR will use for the burial event. The default is “Buried”.

Marriage Term:

The term that AAR will use for the marriage event. The default is “Married”.

Spouse Term:

The term that AAR will use for the spouse. The default is “Spouse”.

Use Short Location Names:

Tells AAR to use Short Location Names rather than the usual Long Location Names.

Include Baptism Info:

Tells AAR to include the baptism event in its output.

Include Alt. Spelling Event:

Tells AAR to use the Alt. Spelling event in Legacy for spelling variations of surnames. Click here for an example of what AAR displays. Just enter the alternate spellings in the Description field for the Alt. Spelling event as in the following example.

Example: “Zajaz, Zayacz, Zajatz and Zajac”

AAR - Customize Dialog - Output Options

Destination Folder:

The folder where AAR places the generated web pages.

File Name Prefix:

The prefix that AAR prepends to each filename. For example, if the top-most ancestor it is processing is RIN “456″ and you enter a File Name Prefix of “RIN”, then AAR will generate the web page with a name of “RIN456.xml”. The default is “I” (for Individual).

HTML File Extension:

The file extension that AAR will use for any non-XML pages (the index and ancestor chart). The default is “.htm”.

Document Title:

The title that will be used for each web page. The default is “Descendants of %s”. If you include a “%s” in the title, AAR will substitute the top-most individual’s name (in Last Name, First Name format).

Generate Index:

Tells AAR to generate an index. The default is checked. You can tell AAR to break the index up into smaller sub-indices by entering a suitable threshold.

NOTE: If you do not generate an index, you may need to muck with “aar.xsl” to remove the index link from the top of each webpage.

Generate Ancestor Chart:

Tells AAR to generate a simple ancestor chart.

Generate Table of Contents:

Tells AAR to generate a table of contents.
