Registration

I registered my copy of the software but I have not received my product key?

If you registered your copy of the software and do not receive your product key within 24 hours, the problem probably rests with either your ISP rejecting my emails, or your email client routing my mail to your Spam/Junk folder. Please make sure to change your email settings/rules to allow email from dennis@zippersoftware.com. If, after checking your email settings and looking in your Spam/Junk folder, you have not received a reply from me within 24 hours, you can try sending me an email from an alternate ISP such as Yahoo or Gmail. You can also try my regular email address of kowallek@iglou.com.

If all else fails, come back to this page and I will post further instructions specifically for you.

Will I need to re-enter my registration info when I install a newer version of the software?

No. The info is stored in the Windows Registry and does not ever get removed. The only way to remove it is to manually remove it using the Windows Registry Editor.

Installation & Removal

How do I uninstall the software?

To uninstall the software, start the Windows’ Control Panel and double-click Add or Remove Programs. Then locate all copies of the software in the list and remove them one by one.

When I try to install the software I get a message which says “The feature you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM or other removable disk that is not available.”

This seems to be caused by something getting corrupted in the Windows’ Registry involving the uninstall of the software. Myrna Jorgensen reports that the problem can be fixed by running the Windows Fix It program. The steps she provided are listed below:

  1. Backup your computer or at least set a restore point!
  2. Find the Windows Fix It program at this link.
  3. Click “Run Now.”
  4. Click “Save.”
  5. After the download completes double-click “MicrosoftFixIt.ProgramInstallUninstall.Run.exe.”
  6. Click “Run.”
  7. On the Microsoft Fix It screen click “Accept” to accept the License Agreement.
  8. On the Program Install and Uninstall troubleshooter screen click “Detect problems & apply the fixes for me (Recommended).”
  9. On the next screen, click “uninstalling.”
  10. The program goes off and searches for programs, then brings up a screen where you can pick the program you are having problems with.
  11. Click on the name of the software you wish to uninstall and then click “Next.”
  12. Click on  “yes, try uninstall.”
  13. The program then attempts to uninstall the software.
  14. A screen comes up with list of issues found and the “fix status.”
  15. Click out of the rest of the program.

At this point you should be able to install the new version of the software.

You may need to re-enter your registration info.

When I try to install the software I get a message which says “The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.”

Same as the solution above.

How do I install a newer version of the software?

Newer versions of the software can be downloaded and installed directly over the older version.

Will I need to re-enter my registration info when I install a newer version of the software?

No. The info is stored in the Windows Registry and does not ever get removed. The only way to remove it is to manually remove it using the Windows Registry Editor.

Error Messages

I installed the new version of the software but when it tries to open my database I get the error message “Could not load file or assembly ‘System.EnterpriseServices.Wrapper.dll’ or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.”

This error most commonly is caused by a problem with the installation sequence of the Microsoft .NET Frameworks on the PC. The solution is to uninstall all the .NET Frameworks (I would uninstall in reverse order from 3.5 back to 1.0) and then download and reinstall them in order (from 1.0 up to 3.5). The software requires .NET Framework 2.0 or higher. One user recommends using the .NET Framework Setup Verification Tool and the .NET Framework Cleanup Tool to do this.
